Identify and Explain 5 Things That Inspire You.
My Mum - I have always looked up to my mum and been really impressed by what she has managed to achieve and do for our family. Another reason why my mum inspires me is because she studies art and has recently qualified as an art teacher. I love all the work she produces, especially when she plays with clay and metal, and I constantly ask her for ideas and input into my work.
Where I Come From - The area I was brought up in is beautiful and constantly inspiring to parts of my work. I also think that all the stories from the part of my childhood which I don't particularly remember (living on site and travelling about in a caravan) have inspired me to be who I am today.
Typographic Artists - I absolutely love drawing typefaces and working with type, so am constantly looking at other artists work to help inspire for my own designs. I really enjoy type that is hand rendered as it gives it an edgier look and makes it more rustic.
Illustrators - I think looking at how illustrators go about designing their work inspires the way I come about ideas and construct pieces. I really enjoy including little illustrations in my final pieces or drawing the whole final piece out.
Artists That Work With Clay, Metal, Paper, etc - I love being "hands on" when producing work and find that a lot of my inspiration comes from my art&craft side of thinking. I think that my final pieces have always been the best when I've got really messy with them and experimented lots with different materials and processes.
